GT GROUP is a Scandinavian holding company established in 2005 by Mr. Benedikt G. Gudmundsson. The Group extends back to 1969 when the first company of the Group, Gudmundur Tyrfingsson Ltd. was founded by Mr. Gudmundson´s father. In 1969 the company started building buses. For decades the company has operated and serviced a fleet of buses and coaches in Iceland.
GT Group´s main focus is on trading and tourism. In 2005-2006 the Group initiated cooperation with Zhengzhou Yutong on development and subsequently sales of buses to the Scandinavian market. Since 2014 the Group has concentrated on investments in electrical buses and e-solutions for public transportation.
GT GROUP founded Yutong Eurobus in Iceland in 2005 followed by Yutong Eurobus Scandinavia (YES) covering Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland. With Scandinavia emerging as a global leader in e-motility the Group has defined Scandinavia as an ideal platform to introduce breaking-edge e-solutions into Europe.
GT Group is increasing its visibility for a variety of commercial e-vehicles including high quality electrical cars with focus on big quantity sales to taxi companies, also light e-vans, e-trucks and e-boat solutions.
